This one is actually partially correct, as the license is on usage and not owning. However, in 1994 buying a cell phone still required a limited license as a radio operator… I was shocked when I received the license after having bought my first cell phone.

Its not true for the VCR or DVD. There was a case in Norway a while back when the government tried to make a woman who only had a VCR pay, she went to the court and won.
