yeah, it’s still illegal when a deadly contagious disease has taken over the countries.
What if your stuck in a room with a person that has just farted?
Breath in?

Not true. It’s only illegal on demonstrations.

This is nonsense. You’re simply not allowed to wear masks or other items covering your face or carry them with you during a political protest. The necessity arose when, especially during the 80s and early 90s, people turned otherwise peaceful protests into violent battles with the police. For crying out loud, we celebrate carnival for several days a week, which is all about dressing up and getting drunk. And Halloween doesn’t have much a tradition in the non-English speaking world

Yes, this “stupid law” should be removed. As some of the other commenters already said: It’s not true.

It’s a very stupid law. You should be able to maintain anonymity – especially during a political protest. You people need to stop worshiping police states.

This is NOT true. As a matter of fact, they have fest that revolve around the use of masks. They have Venetian fairs where everyone wears a mask and Fasching where everyone is in masks.

The law is true.
Lived in Germany for 30+ years.
As mentioned before:
It is limited to certain circumstances.
A fireman IS alowed to wear a mask (gasmask).
A demonstrant is not – to allow for identification if he is doing something illegal.
Also applys for driving a car.
The law in germany states that not necessarily the owner of the car pays the speeding fine (camera!) but the driver. Hence it is not allowed to wear a mask driving a car – again clear identification – I can prove (if I am owner of car) that I wasn´t driving – company car situation – and so on. The law is for my protection – if I am innocent I can prove it!

that’s wrong. you can wear as many masks as you want (looks silly ok lol) but you are not allowed to wear them at a demonstration.
